| #6 | Hello Kimberly,
I too had a carcinoid tumor in my small intestine (terminal ileum)which also affected 4 of 17 lymph nodes. I had the surgery in January 2008. To date, with diligence in finding the right doctors, prayer and support from the many users of this sight, I am getting through this and you will too.
You may have researched this already but there are a number of doctors in North Carolina that deal with carcinoid. They are: Best of luck to you and, as Julie already mentioned, please know that there are others here who care about you and what you are going through.

To follow up on Jules's post, there is both a carcinoid.COM website and a carcinoid.ORG website
The .com site appears to be sponsored by Novartis, the maker of Sandostatin.
The .org website is sponsored by the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation, of which Dr. Warner is the medical director.
Both contain information about carcinoid.
