| #1 | I remember Hugh Doyle, a carcinoid patient, who died a year ago. He had a wonderful spirit and generosity and love for the world. I'm grateful to have known him. I find it difficult to get through these anniversaries and tend to avoid talking about them.

| #2 | My mom passed on about a month ago. She was as strong and stoic a person as I have ever known. She personified dignity and grace even in the face of what must have been great discomfort. The one emotion I never witnessed in her was fear. She had a deep and abiding faith that sustained her, and told me near the end that she was with God. She will always be a huge part of my life. Though I will greatly miss her physical presence, I will continue my relationship with her in other ways. I will choose to see the daily reminders of her as gifts, painful though they are right now. I am pursuing activities that honor her spirit. I will savor and nourish the spiritual and memorial aspects of our relationship. I am too sad to write anymore.\

| #3 | Do you believe in angels? My mom always did. I have a strong faith, but I was never to sure about "her angels." I was at Mom and Dad's house the other day, and found a deck of spiritual angel cards that I had given to her. I took it with me and this morning I took out the deck. Without looking at the 50 or so cards I shuffled them then drew one from the middle of the pile. It read:
"I bring you a message from your deceased loved one: "I am happy, at peace, and I love you very much. Please don't worry about me.""
Of all the cards in the deck....????
